Governor Announces Phase 2 to Open Texas

 


Governor Abbott announced bars, as well as winery, distillery, and brewery tasting rooms, can reopen at 25% capacity effective Friday, May 22, subject to compliance with minimum standard health protocols for bars. The occupancy limit does not apply to an establishment’s outdoor areas provided there is safe distancing among parties.Also, restaurants, including qualified brewpubs, can ramp up capacity from 25% to 50% effective May 22 subject to restaurant minimum standard health protocols. Like bars, the occupancy limit does not apply to a restaurant’s outdoor areas provided there is safe distancing among parties.Additionally, the Governor expressly authorized TABC to monitor establishments to ensure compliance with the health protocols and to suspend permits for 30 days for a first infraction and 60 days for a second infraction.And, the Governor authorized reopening at limited capacity with specific health protocols for movie theaters, bowling alleys, and museums.Find more details including the Governor’s Executive Orders on the Governor’s website.Stay safe, friends
